You are invited to take part in the all-Russian conference with international participation “Basic Research in Endocrinology: A Modern Strategy for the Development and Technologies of Personalized Medicine,” which will be held in Novosibirsk, 26–27 November 2020. The purpose of this conference is to disseminate the latest basic and clinical findings in the fields of etiology, clinical characteristics, and modern diagnostics and treatments of endocrine disorders among a wide spectrum of specialists. The conference will include plenary sessions, specialty sessions, satellite symposia, and an open competition for young scientists.

We organize the conference with international participation “Basic Research in Endocrinology: A Modern Strategy for the Development and Technologies of Personalized Medicine,” which will be held in Novosibirsk, Russia, 26–27 November 2020.
The purpose of this conference is to make a wide spectrum of specialists aware of the latest basic and clinical findings in the fields of etiology, clinical characteristics, and modern diagnostics and treatments of endocrine disorders.
The conference is addressed to physician–endocrinologists, primary care physicians, medical geneticists, pediatric endocrinologists, pediatricians, and physician–scientists.
The conference will include plenary sessions, specialty sessions, satellite symposia, an open competition for young scientists, and an educational course for physicians: “Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young (MODY): Molecular Genetic Determinants and a Personalized Approach to Patient Management.”

Voevoda Mikhail Ivanovich PhD and ScD in medicine, Main Accreditation Commission (VAK) professor, Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) professor, academician of the RAS, head of the Federal Research Center for Basic and Translational Medicine Voevoda M.I. is an expert in the fields of the molecular and medical genetic and an author or coauthor of more than 800 scientific publications, including 13 books, 16 patents of the Russian Federation. In the Russian Scientific Citation Index (RSCI): 935 publications, 8414 citations, h-index: 35. In Scopus: 281 publications, 6578 citations, h-index: 23. In the Web of Science: 283 publications, 4429 citations, h-index: 21. In 1982, he graduated from Novosibirsk State Medical University. In 1990, he defended a PhD dissertation, and in 2001, an ScD dissertation. The main basic-research accomplishments of Voevoda M.I.: A study on the key on molecular biological, organism level, and populational patterns of development of major internal diseases in the Siberian population and designing a scientific basis for their prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Voevoda M.I. supervises graduate courses in the Medical Genetics specialty and the Endocrinology specialty. Under him tutelage, 20 PhD dissertations and 10 ScD dissertations have been defended. M.I. Voevoda has been elected Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the SB RAS Since 2017 (https://www.sbras.ru/en). He is a Member of the Council of the International Society of Therapists, Member of the Council of the International Society for Circumpolar Health, Vice-President of the Russian Society of Atherosclerosis. MATURITY ONSET DIABETES OF THE YOUNG (MODY): MOLECULAR GENETIC DETERMINANTS AND A PERSONALIZED APPROACH TO PATIENT MANAGEMENT
This one day course on Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young (MODY) is aimed at clinicians recognize and treat patients with MODY. It will focus on the current practices and new developments in the management of monogenic diabetes. The program will include plenary lectures on major topics delivered by team of experts. Separate small group case-based discussions will focus on key themes.

The Institute was founded in 1981 (https://iimed.ru/eng). The objective and subject area of the Institute of Internal and Preventive Medicine – a branch of a federal publicly funded scientific institution, the federal research center Institute of Cytology and Genetics, the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IIPM – a branch of the ICG SB RAS), are basic, exploratory, and applied scientific studies in priority areas of molecular medicine and human genetics as well as safeguarding and improvement of human health, the development of health care and medical science, and preparation of high-skill specialists in science and medicine. The main research areas of the IIPM – a branch of the ICG SB RAS: Studies on molecular biological, organism level, and populational patterns of development of major internal diseases in the Siberian population and designing a scientific basis for their prevention, diagnosis, and treatment; Research on the prevalence of major internal diseases, morbidity patterns, and causes of death in the population of Siberia, Far East, and Far North in relation to internal medicine diseases considering the specific features of climatic-geographic, social, and hygienic factors; Investigation of the clinical features and pathogenesis of the major therapeutic diseases taking into account heredity and environmental factors; The development of the scientific basis for organization of specialty medical care of the Siberian, Far Eastern, and Far Northern population.
